Gettin' stuff done...

Good morning!

OK, so I was already a fan of this spunky little Wild Sprout digi called Halle but when I got this new Domestic Bliss paper pack and found that piece with the sentiment on it I just HAD to use the two together. With her fun top knot and sassy attitude Halle certainly looks like a girl who is getting stuff done on her own terms and I love that. The pretty floral paper is from the same paper collection and of course I pulled all the colors for her ensemble to match. A couple of flowers to embellish and this card was complete! :)

Believe...

TGIF my friends!

I kinda fell in love with the Tweetie Pies stamp set when it was released a month or two ago over at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and it immediately went on my wish list. So when 7 Kids recently added it to the store I had to snatch it right up! I just adore this little Earth goddess looking beauty with her birdie buddy and had to get her on a card first. I paired her up with this pretty sentiment and some great floral papers from my stash to create a peaceful scene for these two to live in. And I'm entering this card into the "anything goes" Saturday challenge over on the KK blog so wish me luck! :)

I hope your weekend is wonderfully creative!

Hello...

Hey there!

So last May I blew up Forget Me Not Wryn to 'big head' size and had so much fun coloring her that I vowed to do the same with her two other floral sisters. Now here we are a year later and I am finally making that happen. This time I super sized Lilly Wryn and went super bright and colorful with her flowers. And I didn't limit the coloring to her, I've had this cool coloring washi tape just waiting for the perfect card and this one was it. I wanted the tape to look more watercolor-ish so I used my colorless blender to pick up the colors and it really did the trick. Because I have all this flower goodness going on I'm going to enter this card into the current "blooming beautiful" challenge.  :)

Happy Birthday...

Hello, hello!

It's Tuesday and once again it is my turn to post over on the 7 Kids blog. I've made a birthday card today and it features the mini Ian from The Greeting Farm's Mega Mini Lift Off set. These mini stamps are so perfect for scene building that I just had to give this birthday boy a whole bunch of star shaped balloons. I didn't bother masking the balloons before stamping because I wanted the lines to show, which helps give the appearance of them being see-through. Then I just colored them in and didn't worry about taking each consecutive color right over top the last. Once Ian and his bouquet of balloons were all colored up I did mask them off so that I could quickly stencil in the sunny background behind him. What a happy day this looks to be! :)

Alrighty, there is still plenty of time to enter this month's challenge over on the 7 Kids blog. Kelly has an awesome $20 gift certificate up for grabs and you could be the lucky winner so get to creating and join the fun!

You wow my heart...

Good morning!

During a recent sale at Some Odd Girl I picked up this lovely lady called Unicorn Mae. I've always thought she was really pretty but I just couldn't see myself using her as-is with her horn and other equine features. But I figured by blowing her up to "big head" size and masking off her horn and ear I could easily turn her into a more generic and easy to use image. Once that was done I had so much fun coloring her up and making this CAS card for her to live on. And I figure I might as well throw this into the ring over at the SOG 'anything goes' challenge for good measure. :)

Have a great day everybody!

The little things...

Olo!

I've got a quick little card using an adorable A Day For Daisies digi to share today. She's actually a Halloween image called Dragon Cutie who is originally sporting some big batty wings, but I wanted to make her work on a more spring inspired card so I snipped them off and replaced them with die cut vellum butterfly wings instead. This really lightened her look and now she is ready to rest and relax amidst the sunshine and tall grass. Everything about this card says warm, spring days to me and I couldn't be happier with how it all came together.

Thanks for stopping by!  :)

A magical day...

Hey there!

It's the second Wednesday of the new month and that means it's time for the May 'anything goes' challenge over on the 7 Kids challenge blog. Playing along is easy, all you have to do is use at least one product that can be found in the 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store and link back to the challenge blog in your own post, which gives you a chance at winning a $20 gift certificate at the end of the month... who doesn't love that?
Kelly recently added Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps to the store and I am so excited to finally have a U.S. vendor to order them from. Not that I minded ordering from Canada but the wait for my goodies to make it through customs was no bueno, I much prefer getting my stamps in just a couple days. So for my challenge inspiration card I had to ink up this new princess from Kraftin' Kimmie called Cinderella. Even though I didn't color her up in the traditional Cinderella colors I still liked the idea of a fancy gown magically transforming around her so I did my best to try and create that illusion. There is a whole lot of glitter and shine added but the pic doesn't capture it's true sparkle.

Alrighty, I hope to see some of my crafty friends joining the fun with me this month over at 7 Kids!   :)

Party never...

Hi there!

It's Tuesday and you know what that means... time for my weekly 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store card creation. This time around I just had to grab one of the newest stamp sets from The Greeting Farm called Kitty Stacks and have a play. Being the cat lover that I am, these pudgy little felines immediately stole my heart. I ended up choosing this tiny sleeper and inked him in desert sand for some no-line coloring. I decided to draw inspiration from my brown tabby, Oscar, who loves to nap on my bed and sketched in a comfy, cozy quilt for him to snooze on. Sure it's a simple scene but I think still very effective at sending the soft and serene vibe that I was going for. :)

Alrighty, well the April Challenge just wrapped up but be sure to check out the 7 Kids blog tomorrow when May's Challenge kicks off! With all the new goodies Kelly has been bringing into the store that $20 gift certificate that is up for grabs could really help to fill a shopping cart! ;)

My happy place...

Good morning!

It's been a few weeks but I finally made time to re-join the fun and play along in the current sketch challenge over on the MFT challenge blog. I've actually had this cute Spring Friends Pure Innocence stamped up for over a year so when I saw the sketch I knew she would work. I love how my friend Tracey adds bangs to these PI cuties so I did the same once I got to coloring and I am so happy with how she looks! At first I was a bit lost on what kind of scene to put her in but I guess I was inspired by the gorgeous day we had yesterday and the view of the lake with the forest beyond that I was enjoying. So I just grabbed my markers and started winging it. It was a bit nerve wracking at first but once it all started coming together I was glad I had tackled that challenge. And since I do feel blessed to live in such a beautiful area, and it truly is my happy place, the sentiment was kind of a no brainer, LOL!  ;)

Happy Birthday to you...

TGIF everybody!

I've got another TGF card to wrap this week up with and this time around I colored one of the Beans from the new Bloom kit. This little beauty is called Blossom and I paired her up with the new Doodlebug Fairy Tales paper for a whimsical birthday card. Blossom had the look of a sweet maiden who could be found skipping over rainbows and playing with unicorns. And the best part is how quick the pre-printed scene pulled the whole card together... gotta love that! All I had to add was Blossom and a few coordinating stickers and this card was done. :)

Have a crafty weekend my friends!

Favorite thoughts...

Olo!

Continuing on with my TGF catch up, today's card features one of the new Wild Sprout digis that were released last week. This darling girl is Lydia and she had me at hello... I mean come on, just look at that sweet face! I love her preppy little dress and her braids, heck everything about her is cute. I let her gaze direct the design of the card and arched not just the paper but also the sentiment right above her. It's a simple design but effective. :)

Alrighty friends, I've got to run... TTYL!

You're kick ass...

Hi there!

So I've gotten a lot of fun, new Greeting Farm stamps in the last couple months and I am falling woefully behind on inking them up in a timely manner. One of those stamp sets is the amazing Little Heroes collection. Being the comic nerd that I am, this set was a must have as soon as I saw it. Not only do you get four cute heroes but Marie even included different masks to really allow you to customize your hero. And that's just what I did to turn one of these little guys into my current favorite super hero... Deadpool. I altered the full face mask just a bit by drawing in the point on the back and adding in the smaller eyes then I also drew in his swords and utility belt. I gotta say... I couldn't be any happier with this chibi Deadpool, LOL! Then I used the Avery Elle Super set to give him a rooftop to scuffle with bad (badder?) guys on and this cheeky sentiment from Paper Smooches to really drive home the naughty but funny Deadpool vibe. I really had a blast with this one and I think it shows.  ;)

Later gators!

Introverts unite...

Hello crafty friends!

It's Tuesday and that means I have a new card that I've made for 7 Kids Your Crafting Supply Store. This week I decided to take a Christmas stamp and do a tiny bit of altering to make her work on cards all year long. This pensive looking little sweetie is called Oh Deer! and she is from LDRS Creative. Those eyes... that face... who could resist such a doll? Now like I mentioned, Oh Deer! was part of a winter release last year and the original image has her wearing reindeer antlers on her head but by wiping the ink off the antlers with a baby wipe before stamping she became a simple, shy girl that I could work into any number of card designs. This time around I paired her with a fun introvert themed stamp that suited her perfectly since she looks like she wants to pull that turtle neck sweater up over her head and hide any moment now, LOL! So there you have it... a simple and easy trick to stretch the use of your stamp collection, which is always a good thing. ;)

Oh and don't forget that there is still time to enter this month's challenge over on the 7 Kids blog. Kelly has an awesome $20 gift certificate up for grabs and you could be the lucky winner!

Smile...

Good morning!

Happy May Day to all my crafty friends out there. I can remember gathering tulips and daffodils into a construction paper cone as a child and leaving them on our doorstep for my mom to find as a May Day surprise. It was so fun to knock on the door and then run and hide, waiting for the gift to be found. Looking back now I feel sorry for my Mom's poor flower beds... all that work only to have the flowers all plucked in one day. She never seemed to mind though and we did end up with some lovely bouquets, LOL!
Since I can't share real flowers here on the ol' blog I figure paper flowers are the next best thing. So I pulled out one of my all time favorite floral papers from the Simple Stories Sunshine and Happiness collection and inked up the perfect little fairy to go with. She is from Impronte d'Autore and she's called Fatina Stella Di Natale. Originally she is supposed to be a Christmas poinsettia fairy but I didn't see why she couldn't be enjoyed all the year through. I inked her up in a light grey to do some more no-line coloring and I'm quite pleased with the results. When it came time to embellish the card she looked like she needed something to engage with down in that corner so I threw on a few flowers. Then I thought that it would be nice to have a ladybug peeking out but I didn't have a ladybug sticker that was small enough. The solution presented itself when I pulled out my sequins to fill the flower centers. There was a pink sequin that was the perfect size and color so I just flipped it dome side up and drew on the black dots and antennae... voila instant ladybug!   :)

Have a beautiful day!

Bloom & Grow...

TGIF!

I made today's card for this month's 'anything goes' challenge over at Some Odd Girl. This beautiful Lounge Fairy digital stamp is one of the newest SOG cuties added to my collection and I couldn't wait to color her up. At first I didn't have a real plan for her, the only thing I knew for sure is that I wanted to color her hands yellow so that it would look like she had been busy collecting pollen from all the spring flowers. Once that was done I got the idea to color her hair black with a bit of yellow to kind of look like a honey bee. And just like that I had a busy bee fairy taking a short break before buzzing off to the next patch of flowers. I even added some yellow glitter to her hands and the tree stump to really help sell the magic. If you can't tell, I really had a blast watching this sweet image come to life under my markers.  :)

Hope your weekend is a crafty one!

Happy Birthday...

Olo!

As April wraps up I realized that I hadn't gotten this month's cupcake from the Baker's Dozen set on a card yet. This early attempt at no-line coloring was actually done back in September and I can already see the progress that I've made in my no-line skills. I'm still happy with this sweet cupcake but now I see all the things I would add or do differently when I look at it. I paired it up with an extra large sentiment and turned the whole thing into a pretty little shaker card. The card still needed a bit more whimsy so I die cut these pretty butterflies and stuck them on top of the shaker for even more dimension.

Alrighty, time for me to scoot. Have a good one!

Happy Birthday...

Hello again!

How could I possibly make a girly 4 Seasons Spring card and not make her boy counterpart? Especially when this little dude is so freakin' adorable in his cargo pants and layered shirts... I mean, come on! In fact as much as I love the entire 4 Seasons Boy set this guy is probably my fave of the bunch. I used the same Spring Things collection from Doodlebug to build his world and still had plenty of colors to match from it for his outfit. Another quick and easy card full of color and happiness... just how I like them!  ;)

Talk at'cha laters!

Girly good time...

Hello, hello!

I've made a girly little birthday card for 7 Kids Crafting Supply Store today and it features the mini cuties from The Greeting Farm's Little Party stamp set. These mini stamps are so perfect for scene building that I just had to do a bit of masking and create the girliest birthday party that I could come up with. To do that, I figured that an eclectic mix of pretty paper scraps would give the party bunting a soft, shabby chic kind of look so I grabbed my scissors to do some easy paper piecing. Once that was done I was so happy with the results that I also decided to go the extra mile and paper piece their dresses as well with some of the same papers. I don't know about you but I kinda wish that I was invited to this pretty party too, LOL!  ;)

There is still plenty of time to enter this month's challenge over on the 7 Kids blog. Kelly has an awesome $20 gift certificate up for grabs and you could be the lucky winner so get to creating and join the fun!

Hello sunshine...

Good morning!

With spring fully upon us I figured it was time to pull out my 4 Seasons Girls set from CC Designs and get this sweet girl on a card. I absolutely adore this set and have had a lot of fun coloring up her fall and winter sisters last year. Once again I went to Doodlebug papers for my inspiration and the new Spring Things collection was just what I needed. There is a cuteness factor to these papers that totally suits these little Rascals and makes getting crafty so easy, plus it is always fun to try and match those classic Doodlebug colors with my Copics. Alrighty then, time for me to get out and enjoy some sunshine myself.

TTYL!
