Witch you well...

Happy Halloween to everyone getting their spook on tonight!
I'm ready to rock my witch hat and hand out some candy to all the costumed cuties after work. It will be fun to see what the hot get-ups are this year. I can remember that last year was all about the Avenger super heroes for the boys... I must have seen over a dozen Iron Men, LOL!

It's no secret that I enjoy altering and combining character stamps to create new looks for my cards, so there wasn't a ghost of a chance that I would miss playing along in the Alter-Ego Body Snatching contest over at The Greeting Farm.  I used three different digital stamps to make this Witchy Creeper... there is Hallo Bride's body with Royal Pain's pretty head and Hallobean's hat as a finishing touch. I love the heads of the original three Creeper Cakes and am still hoping to see them become rubber stamps with new, regular bodies someday. Maybe if I stay up late in a pumpkin patch tonight the Great Pumpkin will grant my wish. Oh please Great Pumpkin, pretty please?! ;)
Anywho... at least I can have fun altering them in the meantime. The papers are a bunch of scraps that I had on hand and a couple stickers and a whole lot of dies completed the design. I don't think I want to know what Witchy Creeper was doing with that bone but it sure looks cool, LOL!

Stay creepy my ghosts and ghoulies!  :)

Wish you luck...

Hey there!

Ok, here's the Halloween card that I promised, LOL! I didn't intend to use that Witch Hazel paper again but I guess I'm a little obsessed with the starry sky background and those fun pumpkins that are so easy to fussy cut and embellish a card with. I think I did go a bit outside the box with my stamp choice though, instead of the traditional costumed trick-or-treater I thought it would be cool to feature someone who might be a bit too grown up for costumes. So I grabbed Mae from the SOG Fall Friends stamp set and colored her up in some subtle Halloween colors. Who knows, perhaps she is a thoroughly modern kind of witch... anyone remember the show Charmed? Yep, I'm convinced she is one of the Halliwell sisters out for a moonlit stroll. ;)

Alrighty, time for me to make like a banana and split.

Warmest Wishes...

Good morning!

I know, I know... I promised Halloween and here I am with a Christmas card. Not only that but there is no coloring to be found either! What can I say? Some things came up, knocking me off my original game plan. But I didn't want to go another day without a card to share so I'm posting this simple Christmas one that I recently made. It's just me having fun with some dies and old non-Christmas themed papers. Pretty darn quick and easy if the truth be told but I really like how it all came together.

Alrighty, I've got one last day off to see if I can get some stuff done. Fingers crossed!  :)

Trick or Treat...

Olo!

It's another beautiful day in the neighborhood and I'm wondering how much longer we will be able to hang on to this amazing fall weather. This has been the best October that we've had in a long time... gorgeous, sunny days in the high 60s to low 70s and cool, crisp nights with no real rain or wind. I'm probably jinxing it just by bragging it up and and tomorrow will be grey and gloomy but man, I sure hope not. Personally I'd be thrilled for this to continue right on through November. :)

As for my card today, it looks like Luna the owl is having her own great October day out among the witches, bats, and black cats. The Witch Hazel paper from October Afternoon really created a fun scene for this little owl to live in. I cut it on a diagonal to work with the print better but I also like how it shook up the design a bit. A few gems and the Pebbles stickers that I've been using like crazy lately and this card was done.

I'm hoping to get a couple more Halloween cards done during my day off today and then it will be time to jump into full blown Christmas card mode. :)

TTYL!

Boo...

Hello, hello!

I'm just popping in with another Halloween card to share. It's hard to believe that the big day is less than a week away... where did this month go? I should go dig out my trusty witch hat since I'll be needing it for handing out candy to all the trick-or-treaters after work on Thursday. Hopefully we don't run out of candy early like last year, that was such a bummer.

At least this little trick-or-treater is looking happy and ready to get her spook on. Punkin Beatrice is an oldie but a goodie and I just had to get her inky again. I paired her up with an even older favorite... KI Memories Halloween paper. Their style was so 'me' and I still miss the old KI, it can be hard cutting into and using the stash of it that I do have but I'm trying to get better about that. And while I'm longing for old favorites, I hope that we'll see new Beatrice stamps sometime in the future. Along with the Laugh line of stamps, Beatrice is right up there in my top three fave characters from CC Designs and if you ask me it has been too long since a new one was released.
I don't know if it is just all the years that I've been stamping and/or paper crafting but lately I feel like I'm not seeing a lot of my old favorites anymore. My wish lists aren't as long these days, and while that is great on the pocketbook, I miss having so many new stamps to choose from each month.
Sigh... where did that bit of crafty melancholia come from? Sorry to be such a downer guys!

I'll go get ready for the day and adjust my attitude into something a lot more positive, LOL!

Eek!

Hey there!

I'm popping in today with a card for the Garden Variety Challenge over at TGF. It was an easy one to play along with since it's all about using Halloween colors. The Thirty One collection from Pebbles is probably my most favorite Halloween paper that was released this year. I especially love this floral print because it is so different from any other Halloween paper I have ever seen. But even though I love it I wasn't quite sure how I would make it work for a Halloween card. That's where the new Cheeky Fairy digi flew in and was just the inspiration that I needed. Doesn't she look pretty amidst her Halloween garden? Though I think that spider on the pumpkin is giving her a bit of a fright. ;)
I gotta say, I really love how this one came together and now I can't wait to use this floral paper again. :)

Alrighty, I've got to get myself ready for work.
Stay classy San Diego!

Peace on Earth...

Good morning!

Gosh, I feel like I keep apologizing for my absences around here but I promise this last one was for a really good reason. I had a deadline that almost slipped my mind jump to the front of my to-do list and if I wanted there to be any new Sweet November stamps in the next few months I had to focus and get busy. ;)

Once I had that done though I was eager to get back to stamping, coloring, and creating. Since we had another review preview coming up today it was the perfect opportunity to get this Drozy's Darlings Giving Angel onto a card. She is such a sweetie so I really wanted to keep her card sweet and simple as well. This scrap of winter berry paper had just the outdoorsy look to set the scene for this little angel's snowy wonderland. I couldn't leave her without a friend though so out came the dies and felt and before you know it I had a birdie to keep her company. :)

If you have a minute, you'll want to check out the CC Designs blog for more wonderful review preview cards from my teammates today... it's a whole lot of Christmas eye candy! And all of the October release stamps can be found right here in the CCD store

Hallowed Greetings...

Good morning!

I'm just popping in real quick with another Halloween card. This one features Twinkle Bean from The Greeting Farm as a mischievous little Halloween imp. I thought that with her funky hair and those star barrettes she could pull off the look, though around here she would be way too cold going out trick or treating in an outfit like that. ;)

Well, I wish I could stick around longer but I've got a list of things to do this morning before I head off to work.

Under your spell...

Hello, hello!

I'm happy to report that I found a new dryer earlier this week and you know you must be a boring ol' adult when getting caught up on laundry is this exciting, LOL! ;)

I'm busy working through the weekend but I did find time to print out this lovely SOG digital stamp called Gaze. I decided to make her a bit dark and twisty for a fun Halloween card that also works for this month's Go Ombre SOG challenge. The smoky grey ombre paper actually came from a summer themed paper pad but it really transformed once I paired it up with the orange and purple. And Gaze's big head was also a great place to play around with recreating some cool Halloween eye makeup that I saw on Pinterest recently. There is no way I could ever pull that look off myself but on a stamp with my trusty copics... oh yea! :)

Alrighty then, thanks for stopping by and I hope your weekend is wonderfully creative!

Merry Little Christmas...

Olo!

It's Wednesday and I have a card to share for today's review preview over at CC Designs. :)
I've been coloring this Merry Christmas stamp off and on for a few days because there is quite a lot going on in this super cute scene. Henry and Twila are busy decorating the tree with a bit of 'help' from their four-legged friends and I think I must have been having flashbacks from my own childhood memories of Christmas because I gave these kiddos the same brown shag carpeting that I grew up with, LOL! I didn't even have any papers in mind as I worked on this image which is unusual for me. But I felt pretty safe, considering I have a lot of Christmas paper scraps to pull from and ended up with a fun mix of prints to highlight Henry and Twila's Christmas joy.

There is even more holiday inspiration to be found from my fellow CCD teamies over on the CCD blog today so be sure to check that out as well! And of course all of the new release stamps can be found right here in the CCD store. :)

Well, I'm off to spend the day looking for a new clothes dryer... I'm tired of fighting with the current one to even turn on so wish me luck that I can finally kick it to the curb! ;)

Spooktacular night...

Hey there!

So that was a bit of an unexpected blog break... sorry about that. I have no real excuse other than a very hectic work week and lack of motivation once I got home in the evenings. But with a day off yesterday I am feeling rejuvenated and the creative juices are starting to flow once again. :)

Remember about a month ago when I said that I had found the last of the black haired Creeper Maddens that I had colored up previously for a tutorial? Well, while I was straightening up my desk I came across one that had been hiding from me. So this really and truly is the final Madden making it onto a card. I did give her a Halloween make-over by swapping her old duds for Creeper Jill's dress and lopped off her long black tresses into a stylin' bob. Then I paired her up with the fab Castle Window background stamp to set the scene. A few stickers to dress up the place and this little ghoulie is ready to party. :)

Well, I'm back to work today. Hopefully I'll have something to share again tomorrow.

Merry Christmas...

Hey there!

I've had this Swiss Pixie colored up since CC Designs previews last week and wanted to get her on a card even though previews are over. I've been really diggin' the December Documented line from Simple Stories so naturally I colored Santa's Helper to match. I think part of the reason I'm loving these papers so much is because it gives me that cool chalkboard look without having to do any fancy stamping techniques. Hey, I'm a lazy crafter remember? ;)
Seriously, this card couldn't have been any quicker to put together. Which was a good thing because I was pretty busy yesterday. Hopefully with my day off today I can really have some fun in the crafty room. I'm proud to say that there is finally a clean desk waiting for me in there, LOL!

I guess that means I should bid you adieu and see what kind of a mess I can make.
Later gators! :)

Boo...

Hey there!

Sunday's trip to town was fantastic. Mom and I had a lot of fun at Hallmark and we even stopped by Craft Warehouse where I found a few things that needed to come home with me. ;)

Because most of my day was spent out and about I didn't have time to create anything for a post yesterday. And I spent most of my free time yesterday cleaning off my desk and putting away all those new goodies that I'm anxious to get on a card or two. But I didn't want to go a second day without a post on here so I'm throwing up a non-coloring Halloween card that I made recently. I love this little trio of die cut ghosts from Memory Box and just wanted to have fun featuring them front and center.

Well, I should get a move on. Lots to do before I can relax and make something fun for tomorrow... see you then! :)

Happy Halloween...

Olo!

My mom and I are heading to town for the Hallmark October ornament debut this morning. I'm sure we'll be making the most of the trip and hitting other stores while we are down there so it should be a pretty fantastic day. :)

I know that this past week was all about getting an early dose of Christmas around here but now I'm eager to get back to the Halloween cards I've been wanting to make. Today's not-so-spooky creation features the super cute Hallobean digi from The Greeting Farm. I love her, and even though I'm a bit sad she isn't available in rubber I just had to get my hands on her and color her up. I did go ahead and make the most of the fact that Hallobean is digital by printing out her kitty companion a couple more times in different sizes and direction. I got it in my head that she's a little tyke all dressed up for trick-or-treating and her mom is some kind of crazy cat lady so there were plenty of feline friends to join her on her walk through the neighborhood. ;)
And I'm also entering this into the current FFF Terrific Tags challenge because after being inspired by my pal Nancy's fabulous tag cards I just had to try my hand at it as well. It was fun to do something different and I'm going to have to make sure this design idea makes it into the rotation more often. :)

Okey dokey then, I'm outta here. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Wrapped in joy...

Hey there!

So did you enjoy this past week of new October stamp previews at CC Designs? Christmas stamps are always a personal favorite so I've been having a lot of fun playing with these new offerings and hopefully getting a head start on my list of of Christmas cards I need to make and send this year. :)

Today's card features the Santa's Coming Tonight stamp from Roberto's Rascals. I really dug in and spent the majority of my time coloring for this card. With that wonderful storytelling scene how could I not? I love how it looks like a scene right out of one of those holiday specials cartoons. Henry tried so hard to stay awake Christmas eve to catch even just a glimpse of Santa Claus, but as the hours wore on he couldn't keep his eyes open and only his furry friend witnessed the big arrival. I'm sure any disappointment Henry may feel upon waking will be assuaged when he spies the gifts piled under the tree. ;)
With all of that story happening I kept the rest of the card design super simple. Just a few strips of paper, a small spattering of enamel dots, a sentiment and it was done. And while I'm still not ready to see any snow fall, I've gotta say that making these cards has seriously got me thinking about turning on some Christmas tunes. It's still early so I'll try to resist for a few more weeks, LOL!

Alrighty, off to work I go. Hope your Friday is fantastic!

Comfort and joy and candy!

The third and final day of the October Sweet November previews is here and we are still enjoying the scents and sounds of Mrs. Claus' bustling Christmas kitchen. Gingy and his pals are busy at the cookie station... a place where they naturally feel right at home. One of the little gingerbread men is taking a break from rolling out dough, stopping to rest atop the well used rolling pin, while Gingy himself is practicing his skills with the icing bag. And the best part is that we get to enjoy the tasty delights that these magical Christmas gingerbread men have made just for us.

Plus one lucky stamper will be taking home some extra special candy as well, take a look see...
The Gingy candy kit includes; two Sweet November Gingy rubber stamps, ten 6x6 sheets of Simple Stories December Documented paper, Prima flowers, Kaiser Craft pearls, ribbon, twine, buttons, K&Co Christmas cookie pillow stickers, four envelopes, four card blanks and my card.

All you have to do for a chance to win the candy is leave a comment on this post. If you link to the candy on your own blog that is great and much appreciated but not a requirement... I want everyone to be able to play along. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. I will ship the candy anywhere in the world so everyone is encouraged to play! :) The candy will stay open through Friday, October 4th and I will announce the winner on Saturday, October 5th.

Now you'll want to head on over to the Sweet November Gals' blogs. Nancy and Tress are cooking up creativity that will have you craving more! :)
Instead of using random generator I will be printing out names and tossing them in a hat SO if you leave a comment for the SN gals on their blogs, you will get extra names in the hat... this will up your chances of winning the candy. Fun, fun, fun!

That's a wrap on the Sweet November October sneak peeks. There are even more Gingy previews over on the CCD blog today with another chance to comment and win so don't miss that as well! And all of the new October stamps will be available in the CCD store tomorrow morning, 10/3, at 9am est!

Making spirits bright... with candy!

Day two of the October Sweet November previews finds us back in the warm and inviting kitchen of Mrs. Claus. This cozy room is the abode of some very special gingerbread men. Christmas magic has brought these cute cookies to life and they love to spend their days decorating all sorts of holiday confections. Gingy and his pals have been busy popping popcorn... some to string for garland but most has been for munching. They have also been sorting the biggest and best of the gumdrops for the special gingerbread house that they've been putting together.

With all of that candy lying around there is bound to be some extra for Gingy to share... check it out...
