A fairy happy hello...

Hello, hello!

Thanks for all the congrats on my new car. It's funny, this is my very first brand new vehicle and like Lisa mentioned in the comments yesterday, I do find myself coming up with all sorts of reasons to drive it around, LOL! And if I can't find any nice orange seat covers like Leanne suggested I'm sure I'll find something orange and happy to dangle from the rear view mirror. ;)

As for my card today, I had just received a couple of the new Tiddly Inks fairy stamps that I ordered and couldn't wait to ink one up. I chose Sunny Day this time and paired her up with some more great cloud paper, this one from Carta Bella. Needing some inspiration to put the card all together I headed on over to the Flutter By Challenge to see if I could play along. This week it is a recipe challenge to use flowers, at least one butterfly and a punch/die. I kind of ended up taking the challenge a step further by using a bunch of different dies to get the flowers and butterflies that I needed. I have collected so many great dies that it always feels good putting them to use... which I really should do more often. All in all, I really think this card came together quite nicely and I am very happy with it. :)

Well, I can't believe we are at another Friday already. At least this weekend should be a bit less crazy and we have some lovely sunshine once again in the forecast. Hopefully y'all are getting some sunshine too!

Sending smiles...

Good morning!

And a very good morning it is. Yesterday my sister convinced me to go back into town to look at cars again and guess what? I found one! It's a 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek and I love it. So far I've nicknamed it W3 because that is the Copic color that it matches. I would have gone with an orange one if they'd had it but in the end I'll be rockin' the warm grey, LOL! ;)

Because my day ended up being much busier than I first anticipated I had to go a different direction than my usual cards when it came to making my review preview card. I stamped Josie and Jilly's Chat right on to the kraft cardstock and used the E40 family of Copics to give them some simple shading. I also played with the placement of the image by stamping only Josie on the front of the card and then adding Jilly into the center with their phone line extended using a Copic multiliner pen. Then I just layered some tags and tabs with a few small embellishments and called it good.
As always, there are plenty more Sweet November review preview cards to be seen over on the ATS blog today and all of the May stamps can be found in the All That Scraps store.

Hello there...

Olo!

Sad to say but car shopping was a bust yesterday. The dealership that I really wanted to check out wasn't open and I just didn't have anything else catch my eye. So I'm planning a trip back down there in a week or so when I have another day off to try again. It's a bit disappointing but I'm still hopeful about finding that perfect car for me. :)

Today I've made a very CAS card that was totally inspired by my bloggin' buddy Jenny. Jenny is the owner of Sister Stamps and when she was having reveals for their April release she made a super cute card using the SS Dog stamp and a Memory Box window die, which you can see here. Not only did I fall in love with that adorable pup but she inspired me to get that window die as well... such an enabler, LOL!
I also have to thank my pal Tress because she got the Dog stamp for me while she was shopping in Hawaii during her recent vacation, how sweet is that?! I did a tiny bit of altering by cropping the pup's curly tail into a little stub so that when I colored him up in the beige and grey combo he would look just like my own Yorkie.  And this is a scene that I see most every time that I get home from work so making this card really put a smile on my face. :)

Before I sign off I'm going to recommend you hop on over to the Sister Stamps blog because I noticed that they have chances to win their upcoming June stamps which include three amazing mermaids. So be sure to check that out!

Happy Birthday...

Hi guys!

I've got an exciting day ahead of me. I'm going to the city to see if I can find a good deal on a new car. I've been saving up for a while now and I've got my eye on a couple different vehicles so hopefully I'll be coming home this afternoon with a reliable car that I also love. Wish me luck! :)

The Garden Variety challenge over at The Greeting Farm is a beautiful color combo of peaches and aqua, which is one of my all time fave color combos, so I had to sneak this one in before the deadline. Anya Treats is the last of the three original Big Time Anyas that I had left to color up and I think she looks smashing in her peachy aqua ensemble. Of course she had to have some chocolate frosted cupcakes to celebrate the big day because in my opinion vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting are the best cupcakes out there, LOL! :)

Ok, I'm anxious to see what this day brings so I'm going to get a move on.

Heartfelt wishes...

Hello, hello!

So far the long weekend is proving to be very busy but full of a lot of good times too. The weather isn't completely cooperating but as long as the torrential downpours keep clear, it's all good. :)

I made the card I'm sharing today to play along with this week's Flutter By Challenge which is a sketch. I'm continuing on my lazy streak of just grabbing random pre-stamped images off my desk and making them work. This time it is a Pergamano fairy, whom I'm pretty sure has made it onto a card before, but I still had just as much fun coloring her up this time around. The papers are all from the Basic Grey Mint Julep 6x6 paper pad which, when combined with the great sketch inspiration, made this card come together in just over an hour. Not too shabby if you ask me. ;)

Alrighty friends, time for me to rock and roll. Hope you are having a fabulous holiday too!

Happy Birthday...

Hi guys!

I was very busy meeting a deadline yesterday so I didn't have time to make a card. Instead I'm sharing a non- coloring card that I've had done for awhile. Lots of different dies going on here and all coming together to create a simple masculine birthday card. I even used that paper doll border on a scrap of denim for a bit of added texture. It turned out to be a total PITA but the end result looks kinda cool. ;)

Oh and that deadline I mentioned... designs for upcoming SN Halloween stamps. Eee! I can't wait for you to see what is in store! :)

Sup...

Good morning!

We are getting closer and closer to the big Memorial Day weekend and if the weather doesn't clear up around here we are going to have a bunch of grumpy tourists in town. Not fun. So I'm hoping the rain clears and the sun is out again by the time they all start rolling into town tomorrow afternoon.

For my card today I grabbed the Shy Mae digi that I had printed out already and just put together a really quick and easy card. The papers are actually little Project Life cards that already come in a 3x4 size so the only cutting I did was to get that red strip off one. Otherwise it was a simple layer, layer done. OK, maybe there is a bit more to it than that but not much, LOL!
As I was searching for a sentiment, this cheeky slang "Sup?" caught my eye and it got me looking at Mae not so much as a shy girl but as a bit of a flirt instead. Yep, I definitely think she's got her eye on someone special. ;)

Well, I guess I should go do my hair and make-up.

Thought of you today...

Olo!

Today I'm playing along in the TGF Farm Fresh Friday challenge, and this week it is to do a bit of paper piecing on your card. I wanted to cross another stamp off my 'waiting to be inked' list and I found Sitting Wonderful Anya who has been neglected for quite some time. Which is a shame since she is pretty darn cute with her sassy short hair and that fabulous bow. And it was actually that bow that sold me on her for this challenge because I thought it would look great with a bit of pattern to it. It wasn't until I was stamping Anya up that and realized she needed her chair and that I could also have fun paper piecing it as well.
I ended up using some Lily Bee papers again because they have teeny tiny repetitive prints that are fantastic for piecing. I actually kind of want an over-stuffed grey floral chair now, LOL!

Anywho, the weather here has turned a bit stormy and cool so I should go find something warm to face the day in.

Thumbs up...

Mornin' friends!

So I was checking out the new digi stamp May release over at Pee Wee Designs and was immediately captivated by little Bashful Betty here. I know that she is meant to be kinda shy looking but I saw her as giving a big thumbs up and I had just the kid quote sentiment stamp to go with her. It's a match made in heaven if you ask me! ;)
It's been a while since I've inked up one of my kid quote stamps, mostly because the style of them doesn't work with just any character stamp. I tend to pair them up with younger, more child like images and these Pee Wees definitely fit the bill. The rest of the card is pretty CAS really, the paper was busy enough with all the colors and patterns going on that I didn't want to compete with all that.

Oh and while I was checking out the Pee Wee Designs May release I found something pretty darn cool. There is a free digi stamp right now called Cutie Patootie that you won't want to miss out on 'cause she's pretty darn adorable!

Alrighty, another day... another dollar.
See ya in 24. :)

Hi-ya sweets...

Hi guys!

Sorry to have been MIA this weekend, I was just having too much fun and not getting home early enough to do any crafting. It wasn't an intentional break but I feel rejuvenated none the less. :)

My card for today actually started with the papers first rather than my usual process of stamp first. But I had been dying to get my hands on the Sweet Shoppe papers because mix of bright colors with the black really caught my eye. Plus I'm kind of a sucker for strawberries. At first I pulled out my Pure Innocence binder of stamps to look for a strawberry specific image but the Cute as a Button girlie got my attention instead. Right away I could see that jar in her hand filled with delicious strawberry jam. And it was really easy to cut away the original button in her other hand and replace it with a berry that I fussy cut from the paper.
Mmmm... I'm kinda craving jam and toast now, LOL!

OK, it's back to work for me but I'll see y'all again tomorrow... I promise! :)

Hello sunshine...

Hello my friends!

Can you believe that I started making this card a whole year ago?! Apparently it had been forgotten in a small stack of doilies until I recently unearthed it... oy! I actually remember coloring Mermaid Lucy in the hospital the first or second week that my mom got sick. She was for last June's release reviews but amidst all that was going on Lucy kinda got lost in the shuffle. The papers are all American Crafts Shoreline that also came out last summer and I even had them all cut out and glued in place. All I really had to do to finish the card yesterday was add the gems and the little seagull silhouettes that I just cut out by hand.
I feel bad that it has taken this long for Mermaid Lucy to finally get her day in the sun but I suppose the old adage, better late than never, really does apply here. Perhaps I'll consider it a really late review preview, LOL!  :)

Alrighty, TGIF to everyone... hope your weekend is wonderful!

Make a splash...

Hello again!

As promised yesterday, I played around and did the Bean alteration idea that was on my mind. Instead of using Shimmer Bean again I inked up Shiny Bean for the first time and have transformed her into... Sea Bean! Is darling as the Beans are as fairies, I really wanted to see one test the waters with a shimmery tail. It was as easy as wiping away her legs and wings before stamping and then printing out a scaled down Mer Ian digi so that I could swap out his tail and glue it onto my Shiny Sea Bean. I really had a blast putting her together and she needed a special card to call home.
The Farm Fresh Friday challenge is a 1-2-3 recipe to use 1 image, 2 embellishments, and 3 patterned papers. So I dug into my scraps until I found a fun mix to set the scene and used twine and my go-to gems for the two types of embellishments. I think Shiny Sea Bean with her ombre hair is having a wonderful time swimming with all those fishy friends. :)

Okey dokey, time for me to scoot my boot.

What's up...

Olo!

I'm playing along in the new TGF Garden Variety challenge with little miss Shimmer Bean today. It's a color combo of green and blue so I thought easy peasy! Shimmer has been one of those images that I have stamped and ready to go on my desk so it was a quick decision about who would be getting colored up in some blue and green hues. It seems like I have a slight addiction to cloud print patterned papers this time of year because I pulled yet another one for the background of this card. And how perfectly does that sentiment bubble match the dotted clouds in the background... as soon as I came across it there was no way that I couldn't use it to finish off the whole thing.
While I was coloring up Shimmer Bean I actually got a fun idea for an alteration so don't be surprised if you see another Bean tomorrow too. I just know I won't be able to rest until I get this idea out of my head, LOL!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a very crafty Wednesday.  :)

One big hug...

Hello, hello!

I'm kinda on the go already today, so much to do and so little time, so this post will have to be a quick one.
I'm still on a roll playing with the new order of stamps that I got last week. Today my card features one of the newest additions to the Sister Stamps line-up... Li-Li. I couldn't resist her and that darling panda friend she's holding so close. And for whatever reason I knew that I wanted to color that panda purple. Don't ask me why... I guess I just thought at a purple panda would be a cute change up. So I hit my bag of purple scraps and came up with this soft color palette using a mix of old MME and some Glitz. As for embellishing the card, I found a fleece heart in my stash and I loved the soft texture for this snuggly pair but it was too large to really work with Li-Li and the rest of the layout design. I was about to give up and find something else when I thought "Duh!" cut that heart down into a bunch of smaller hearts with a die. And that is just what I did. :)

Alrighty, I'm off to do the whole make-up and hair routine. TTYL!

Thanks a bunch...

Hi guys!

I hope all you mamas out there had a wonderful Mother's Day and a fantastic weekend! My sister and I took our mom out and did some shopping for her garden plants so she was a happy camper. :)

I've got a super quick card that I made to share with y'all today. I got the new Garden Anya last week and couldn't wait to color her up... probably because she certainly looks more stylish than I do when I'm out digging in the dirt, LOL! I also really wanted to play with the Stitched Sentiments set that I treated myself to after payday. I've had it on my wish list for months but it was always sold out. So when I finally saw it available at The Craft's Meow I jumped on it. It's not even like I'm much of a seamstress or anything, but I do love me some faux stitching. ;)
Anwho, like I said, quick and cute... just how I like it.

Hope this Monday treats you well.

Pure Sunshine...

Good morning!

Let me tell you, it really has been pure sunshine around here this past week. Our highs have been in the mid to high 80s and I finally had to cave and turn the AC on... craziness! If the water wasn't still so freezing cold I would be tempted to jump in the lake after work, LOL! At least it should make for a pretty amazing Apple Blossom parade and festival in town this weekend... just can't forget the sunscreen. ;)

Come to think of it, this new May Day Birgitta looks like she is ready to walk the parade. Isn't she just the cutest? I love her short 'do and that bouquet of hers is a lot of fun to color. Of course I did mine to match the colors of the Vintage Bliss paper, which is still a recent fave of mine. Though it may be replaced soon when Simple Stories releases their new summer line, LOL, I know... I'm hopeless! Anwho, back to my card, it's really pretty simple since the paper design did most of the work for me. All I added was the sentiment, twine, and the wood veneer butterflies. Those butterflies are cool but I really hope that Studio Calico makes some teeny tiny ones for us card makers soon... fingers crossed!

Alrighty, I'm off for another busy day but don't forget that you still have until tonight to get your name added to the May Fairwee candies and winners will be announced in tomorrow's post. Also all of the May release stamps are now available for purchase in the ATS store.

The word is out... we've got candy!

With the warmth and sunshine of May finally upon us it's the ideal time to once again set off for the magical borders of Sweet November Land. The air is positively abuzz with activity and movement and it seems like every living creature in SN Land is on the go. Hopefully we will be able to find a Fairwee or two to chat with amidst all the hustle and bustle of spring fever.

It has been quite the magical adventure these last few days, what with being shrunk down to the size of a Fairwee. We have raced wild butterflies, ridden in hot air balloons and flown kites across the bright blue sky. Now it's time to think about heading back home but before we can do that we kind of need to get back to normal. Unfortunately there is no sign of Fairwee Daphne and her magic dust. If only there was a way to get hold of her. Hmmm... I can hear voices underneath those daffodils, let's go see who it might be. Why it is Josie and she is holding a tin can to her ear. Attached to it is a glittering line at the end of which is Jilly chattering into her own tin can. They excitedly wave us over and explain that they have been spreading the news all over Sweet November Land about our wee adventure. The two of them have been on the line all afternoon and with a little luck they may have found the one Fairwee who can return us to the size we should be. Moments later Daphne comes flying in on the breeze and asks if we are sure we really want to change back. And while it has been an amazing experience we explain that we just have to get back home. So with another wink and a flourish of sparkling dust the three Fairwees seem to shrink before our very eyes as we finally return to normal.

And Jilly and Josie were sweet enough to send us back home with a bit of candy... take a peek...
The Josie and Jilly's Chat candy kit includes; one Sweet November Josie and Jilly's Chat rubber stamp, ten 6x6 sheets of Heidi Swapp Serendipity paper, Prima flowers and Kaiser Craft pearls, ribbon, twine, buttons, washi tape, Studio Calico wood veneer shape, four envelopes, four card blanks and my card.
All you have to do for a chance to win the candy is leave a comment on this post. If you link to the candy on your own blog that is great and much appreciated but not a requirement... I want everyone to be able to play along. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone. I will ship the candy anywhere in the world so everyone is encouraged to play! :) The candy will stay open through Friday, May 10th and I will announce the winners on Saturday, May 11th.

Let's go fly a kite and grab some candy!

Now that we are safe and sound in the Fairwee's very own special glen I feel like we can breath a sigh of relief. We may still be teeny tiny but everything seems less intimidating here. Hopefully we can find Daphne soon and see about getting magicked back to normal. Until that time we should enjoy our new perspective and the beautiful spring day here in Sweet November Land. It's not long before a familiar face comes bounding across the meadow, it's Fairwee Mia and she has a fabulous kite dancing on the breeze behind her. Higher and higher the kite ascends into the sky as Mia masterfully has it dive and swoop all around. Mia says that she heard the rumor about us and wanted to see it for herself. She is positively delighted to have some new friends to fly kites with as she magically conjures up a kite for each of us. Before long the blue sky is dotted with countless brightly colored kites all waltzing together in a beautiful spring time dance.

The only thing that could make this day any sweeter is a bit of candy, don'tcha think? Take a peek...

Skies the limit for some candy!

As fun as it was to ride the wild butterflies I sort of expected Daphne to work her magic again and get us all back to our normal size. So it's a bit unsettling when she eventually flies off with a wave and a wink. Being the size of a dime takes some getting used to and I just hope we can safely maneuver this newly intimidating landscape. Too bad we didn't wish for wings as well, it would be very handy to be able to get an aerial view of our surroundings now that the butterflies have all flown off. Wait a sec, what is that floating over the horizon? Why it looks like a hot air balloon. Oh wow! It's not just one balloon but a whole armada filling the sky with their bright and happy colors. The first one to land before us is manned by Fairwee Emaline and she is so excited to see us in our newly shortened state. When we explain our predicament Emaline is quick to offer all of us rides on the hot air balloons as an easy and fantastic way to get to a safer location. As we take off up into the sky the views are just fantastic and Emaline explains that she enjoys the balloon rides from time to time because the slower pace allows for you to really appreciate the beauty all around instead of just quickly flying by without a second look... how true that is.

There is also some fabulous candy to enjoy during this hot air outing, check it out...
The Emaline's Hot Air Balloon candy kit includes; one Sweet November Emaline's Hot Air Balloon rubber stamp, ten 6x6 sheets of Echo Park A Perfect Summer paper, Prima flowers and Kaiser Craft pearls, ribbon, twine, buttons, washi tape,Freckled Fawn wood veneer shapes, four envelopes, four card blanks and my card.

Soaring by with some candy!

Luckily it isn't long before one of our wee friends is spotted flying by on the back of a wild butterfly. It's little miss Daphne and she is having a blast riding on the spring breeze, up and down to and fro. I'm a bit envious of that freedom and sheer abandon, if only we could shrink down to Fairwee size and join the fun. When Daphne and her butterfly friend finally stop for a breather we can't resist expressing that wish. She seems to ponder an idea for a moment and then she whispers into the butterfly's ear. With a wink and a giggle they take off and start circling above our heads. Daphne sprinkles some sort of fairy dust onto us and a strange sensation runs through our bodies. At first it seems that the trees and flowers are growing larger until we realize that our wish is coming true and we are getting smaller! Before we know it Daphne is calling for more butterflies and we are joining our tiny friend on a roller coaster ride across the sky... WOW! The excitement of this magical afternoon will not be soon forgotten.

And if that wasn't enough, Daphne also has a bit of high flying candy to share with one lucky crafter. Take a look...
